Throughout my career, I’ve combined hands-on patient care with high-level leadership across some of the largest healthcare systems in the country.

• Chief Medical Officer, Centura Health/CommonSpirit Health – Oversaw and responsible for quality, safety, lab, pharmacy, graduate medical education, and clinical integration across 20 hospitals and 6,000+ providers.
• Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, Centura Health – Championed belonging for patients and employees alike, while addressing disparities in health outcomes across different communities.
• Medical Director, Centura Health Clinically Integrated Network – Supported system-wide alignment between hospitals and physicians for better care, access, and value.
• Dean of Admissions, University of Colorado School of Medicine – Helped shape the future of medicine by selecting and mentoring the next generation of physicians, emphasizing excellence, scientific curiosity, and compassion.

This breadth of experience allows me to deliver care that is not only compassionate and personal, but also informed by deep clinical knowledge and healthcare strategy.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Human Biology from Stanford University, where I developed a lasting interest in the connection between health, culture, and systems. I went on to complete dual graduate degrees — an MBA and an MS in Health Administration from the University of Colorado Denver — before earning my medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completing my residency in Family Medicine at Rose Medical Center in Denver.

This training gave me both a deep clinical foundation and a systems-level understanding of healthcare — essential for delivering personalized, coordinated care that makes a difference.

When I’m not caring for patients, I’m a proud dad, a lifelong athlete, and someone who finds joy in connection — whether through sports, friendship, food, or service.

I played football at Stanford University for four years as a wide receiver and kick/punt returner, and that experience still fuels the discipline, focus, and teamwork I bring to medicine today. I’m also a giant fan of Denver team — especially the Broncos and Nuggets — and love both watching and playing anything whenever I can.

Outside of sports, I like working with bonsai and I’m a certified Kansas City Barbecue Society judge. Whether it’s shaping a tree or evaluating perfectly smoked ribs, both have taught me to appreciate patience, craft, and attention to detail — even if my bonsai don’t always survive. (Fortunately, I do much better with people than plants.)

Some of my closest friendships go back to grade school — my daily reminder that trust and loyalty are lifelong values. Those same values guide my work in the broader community. I currently serve as:

• Board Member for the Colorado Health Foundation
• Board Member for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Denver

Serving on these boards allows me to support the health and well-being of families, children, and communities across our state — something I care deeply about both professionally and personally.
